IMPORTANT

First and foremost please remember that Ashton Court Estate is a public park and that there will be members of the public there who have no idea what is going on. Please be gentle with them and never throw if there is a risk of hitting someone else. Give them space and wait until the area is clear.

Please use a spotter to ensure the area is clear on any holes where there is less than full visibility of the area you are throwing into. This is most likely on $afari 2 and Anty Establishment.

Ashton Court is a SSSI nature reserve. So there’s lots of nettles and the grass is quite long. I recommend wearing long trousers, waterproof footwear and keeping a very close eye on where your disc goes – sometimes they’re hard to find even in the middle of the fairway.

Scoring your round and Course Layout

For this event, we’ve come up with two 18 hole layouts that, between them, play 24 different holes whilst avoiding any fairways crossing (eg The Hump and Humpback are not in the same layout). The cost of playing all these holes is that there are one or two long walks.

Your starting hole will be published on the PDGA tournament page prior to the tournament.

Every card must submit a PDGA scorecard:

PDGA Scorecard Code: AC01

In addition, we have two unique layouts for this event that appear on uDisc, and so I advise one PDGA scorecard and one uDisc scorecard per group.

If you need more info, there should be a Yeti Club memeber on your card, or there are links to each of the holes below, showing OB areas and Drop Zones.

For this reason I will refer to the holes by their names rather than numbers.

Timings
There will be two rounds of 18, with a short break for lunch.

8:45 to 9:15 Check in

There will be no physical players meeting but all players must check in B (see Round 1 map). ///fallen.fork.crop

Divisions and Prizes

Of your £15 entry fee: £5 is your green fees, £1 ace pot and £2 per player has gone into the prize fund. The prize value is somewhat relative to the number of people in each division.

We’ve been donated some very nice minty green discs to give away, and in addition tomahawk disks have bumped the voucher value and donated some spot prizes, and I have a whale sac for the CTP on the whale sacs hole.

Food and drink

You will need to be self-sufficient in food and water during the event. The lunch break should be at least an hour so it is time to go back to your car for some food, or to sit and eat in the park if the weather is good. There is just about time to go to a nearby pub, or the mansion cafe but only for a quick drink and snacks.

Toilets
There are no toilets on the course. The nearest public toilets are in the courtyards on the far side of Ashton Court mansion, which is a ten minute walk: ///cans.income.pints

The Angel pub is a cheap and cheerful place to visit.

Practice rounds
You are very welcome to come along the day before for some practice rounds to get to know the course.

Course map

To help players navigate each round, there will be numbers on each tee, and at each basket an arrow pointing to the next tee.

Round 1 will be yellow paint.

Round 2 will be white paint.

So if you are standing on a tee in Round 1, and there’s a yellow number on it corresponding to the number on the PDGA scorecard, you’re in the right place.

This is the tee #10 for Round 1, and #11 for Round 2.

From most baskets, the next tee is the same direction, so the arrow is both yellow and white, but look out for when the arrows point in different directions, and follow yellow in round 1, and white in round 2.
